Frequently Asked Questions

Employee Ownership Conference

Why is the event being reformatted into a virtual event?

Growing concerns over the COVID-19 virus have resulted in school closures; banning of large gatherings; and strict work-at-home policies in many communities, including Minneapolis. We have a responsibility to our community and ourselves to ensure the safety of all attendees, sponsors, speakers, and staff of the NCEO.

What happens to my conference registration?

Your registration will be transferred to the virtual conference, the fee for which will be less than the in-person conference. You do not need to do anything to be registered for the virtual conference, and we will release specifics on this website shortly.

With a virtual meeting, the NCEO does not have venue expenses, and the lower fee for the virtual conference incorporates that savings. You may choose to receive a refund equal to the difference in cost. If your company can afford it in these difficult times, we hope you will consider asking for an NCEO credit or making a donation for all or part of the registration to us instead of receiving your refund in cash.

The coronavirus will have a major financial impact on the NCEO, and your donation will help ensure we can continue our work without major disruption. If you would like to donate any portion of your registration fees please email eventhelp@nceo.org .

Can I register for the digital conference if I did not sign up for the live conference?

Yes! Registration will open to everyone in the near future.

What if I choose not to attend the virtual event?

If you choose not to attend the virtual conference, you have several options.

  • You can receive an NCEO credit for the full amount of your registration fee (we won't charge the administrative fee) until April 13.
  • You can receive a refund of your registration fee (minus a $50 administrative fee) until March 27.
  • If you would like to support the NCEO, you can convert any portion of a refund into a tax-deductible contribution to the NCEO. Please contact eventhelp@nceo.org.

What does the virtual event look like, and what are the proposed dates?

We appreciate your patience while we work through the logistics. At this time, we know the following: We will transform the Employee Ownership Conference into a multi-day virtual event connecting our attendees to informative breakout sessions, digital learning labs, and innovative keynote speakers.

What should I do about my airfare?

Check with your airline; many are offering refunds and credits for cancelled flights.

Can I cancel my hotel without a penalty?

If you booked at one of the conference hotels, you should be able to cancel without any penalty charge. Please contact the hotel directly.
